A Tropical Burst

That transitional period between September and December where we go through from spring into summer is always a difficult time to plan your outfits. Cape Town’s weather during this time is like a woman’s emotions (you’re hot and you’re cold) Sigh, why are we always talking about the weather?

On a brighter note I’d like to focus on my new found love for mixing bright colours outside of the colour wheel (Such a rebel) A good combination for me is either red and blue, orange and blue or yellow and orange. My look today is focused on blue and orange. I’m not very adventurous when it comes to mixing prints, but I do love mixing colours, and especially for the warmer days ahead.

This season is all about that 70’s inspired look, and “fringe” is a huge element that is being incorporated in tops, kimonos, vets, bags and well just about everything. Think 70’s with a modern bohemian revival twist. This means bold colours, fringe, suede, paisley prints, floaty fabrics, ethnic details, flared sleeves and pants, crochet, huge sunnies… I could go on and on (Possible one of my favourite eras) Very much ready to channel my inner Bridget Bardot.
